Pladedesign

Standard plates
Our standard plates are designed with a herringbone pattern, and are used in our traditional and sanitary plate heat exchangers. They are available in two variants:

  • Thermal Short (TK): Steeper angles that reduce heat transfer and pressure loss.
  • Thermal Long (TL): Flatter angles that increase heat transfer and pressure loss.

These variants can also be combined into a thermal mix (TM) version to achieve a balance between efficiency and pressure loss.

Press Depths
In addition to our standard plates, we also offer plates with alternative press depths to suit specific operating conditions.

High Efficiency (HE): The HE series is designed with a lower pressing depth, ideal for applications requiring precise temperature control. These plates can maintain a temperature difference of as little as 0.5 degrees C between the two circuits, ensuring optimal heat transfer and high efficiency.

Deep (D):

 Plates with a deeper press depth provide improved heat transfer efficiency, as the deeper pattern creates stronger turbulence in the steam and condensate flow. They also reduce the risk of clogging when handling fluids with higher viscosity or particles.

The design prevents water pockets, ensures stable operation, and offers increased mechanical strength – allowing the plates to handle higher pressure differences between channels.
With wider channels and a robust construction, deep plates deliver lower pressure drop and reliable performance under high load and demanding conditions.

Deep corrugation plates are generally more suitable for steam compared with standard plates.

Free Flow plates

Our Free Flow plates are designed with deep channels that allow unobstructed flow of media containing solids, fibres, particles or high viscosity. The plate pattern with horizontal waves minimises contact points in the flow direction and ensures gentle treatment of the media.

 

Selected Free Flow plate heat exchangers can be configured with two different plate depths: ‘SonFlow High’ and ‘SonFlow Low’. They can be assembled asymmetrically (12/6 mm gap) or symmetrically (9/9 mm gap), depending on the specific operational requirements.

Condenser plader
Our condenser plates are specifically designed for condensation processes where vapour needs to be cooled and converted into liquid. The plate design ensures efficient transfer and a stable condensation process. The unique structure enables high heat transfer efficiency, even at low temperature differences.

Materialer

Platematerials

All plates are made from materials that are carefully selected to ensure compatibility with the specific process. The choice of material depends on factors such as pressure, temperature, capacity and fluid type.

  • Nickel
  • C276 (Alloy)
  • SMO 254
  • Other materials are available on request.

Gaskets
The gaskets in our heat exchangers ensure effective sealing and prevent media mixing. They are moulded in one piece to fit precisely into the gasket grooves along the plate edge and around the corner holes.

Gaskets are available in several different materials, including NBR, EPDM and Viton.

The appropriate gasket material is selected based on the specific fluid and operating conditions of the heat exchanger.
